AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY CHARLOTTE GALA RAISES MORE THAN $140,000 FOR CANCER RESEARCH
The American Cancer Society (ACS) of Western North Carolina and South Carolina raised more than $140,000 from its annual gala, Re-Imagine Charlotte presented by Harris Teeter.
The culinary celebration featured celebrity Chef David Buke and Cheryl L. Richards, Ph.D., CEO Catapult as honorary co-chairs. Burke’s Charlotte restaurant, Red Salt by David Burke, invited two local culinary schools -- Johnson & Wales University, Charlotte Campus with Associate Instructor Chef Robin Stybe and Livingstone College, Salisbury Instructor Chef Carl Brown. A dozen students from each institution joined Executive Chef Jeffrey Russell in preparing and plating the presented three courses.
