Event Information

The 4th Annual Taste of Hope Charlotte gala hosted by the American Cancer Society is September 14th. The ‘foodie’ fundraiser will again showcase an over-the-top French inspired menu by Celebrity Chef David Burke (Falcon and Fox, South Park) who continues to be a great friend and supporter of our gala and mission.  The fundraising gala provides an interactive cocktail reception with silent auction, jewelry and wine pulls, raffles and music followed by a three-course sit-down dinner presentation performed by each chef deconstructing their special course through culinary insights from the chef’s stage. A live auction and mission paddle raise follow, with a very special mission moment speaker, a cancer survivor sharing their heartwarming story. Live entertainment for dancing will complete the evening’s program.

Message from our leadership

Event Chair

Thank you for joining us for the Annual Taste of Hope Charlotte Gala! On behalf of our Executive Leadership Committee and the American Cancer Society, thank you for raising awareness and resources in the fight against cancer. Chances are, you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, so tonight is about more than just great food and friendship; it’s one with personal purpose and meaning. We appreciate your commitment to advance our mission to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.

Our Mission

Mission Funding: Health Equity

Cancer affects everyone but not equally. Many barriers can impact a person’s ability to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer, with racism and discrimination making it even more difficult to address social determinants of health. A person’s quality of life and cancer outcomes can be determined by their ZIP code, education, income, access to health care and healthy and affordable foods, and other variables outside their control. These barriers are deeply rooted, long-standing inequities at all levels of society that will take an intentional effort to address for equitable cancer outcomes.

To ACS, and its non-profit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate, the ACS Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN℠), health equity means that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
